And of course, on July 12th, it's...

The Annual FSGR Greyhound Lover's Picnic!

This event just keeps getting bigger & better each year!   Join us at the Oley Fairgrounds from 12-5 for...

This year's speaker, Lee Livingood, author of Retired Racing Greyhounds for Dummies!

Fabulous shopping, from the FSGR store, Victorian Dreams, Jen Howard, Polly Hornberger, Terry Flannery, and more!

Outrageous raffle prizes!     Scrumptious Picnic Cuisine!     Fun and games for you and your hounds!    Voting for the 2nd Annual Greyhound Calendar Hounds!

And don't miss the new Greyhound Idol Competition!  Does your hound sing? Dance?  Or just look adorable?  Whatever the talent, enter your hound to perform in front of our tough panel of judges!

And by the way...how does a picnic happen?  It starts with a dedicated core of volunteers, who make plans and phone calls, do leg-work and scut work, set up and tear down...and have a great time doing it!   We can always use more help...especially with things like making phone calls to gather some swell items for the raffle, for example.  So if you'd like to help out with the picnic...or with ANY aspect of volunteering for First State...please contact greythndz@yahoo.com for more information!

Wait...did you say CALENDAR COMPETITION?

Yup!  Last year's calendar was so popular, we're going to do it again!  And we need your help...it's time to send in your best hound pictures for the 2009 Calendar!

Last year was our first year producing our calendar, and we learned a lot.  So here are the guidelines for this year's calendar:

--No previously published or professional studio-portrait pictures, please
--Photos submitted may be used by FSGR in other settings than the calendar, such as the web site, unless you specify otherwise
--We reserve the right to limit the number of photos per hound or family

Pictures should be submitted by 6/1/08 so send yours soon!

Please contact greytphotos09@verizon.net if you have any questions!
